Vandalism at Cristo Rey Lutheran Church in Santa Ana, El Salvador - November 2023

Pastor Vilma reported to us in November of 2023 that Cristo Rey (Christ the King) Lutheran Church in Santa Ana, El Salvador, was seriously vandalized.  They lost nearly everything valuable in the church, but the church building itself was apparently not seriously damaged.  The photos below show the extent of the theft, and we are encouraging members of Cristo Rey to work with the police on a security plan for the church going forward.  You can make a donation to Cristo Rey by writing a check to Good Shepherd with Cristo Rey on the Memo line.  We will be wiring donations in mid-December.  Pastor Vilma has asked for just one thing from us:  our prayers.  We can be sure that she and the members of Cristo Rey, especially the youth, have those in abundance.
